Arriva Increase Fares In Some Areas

Arriva North East are increasing fares in some areas from 2nd January 2012.

Nigel Featham, managing director for Arriva North East, said: “Arriva North East is committed to providing value for money fares and high service standards. This can be a difficult balance to maintain and current economic pressures mean that in order to maintain investment at current levels we need to increase a number of fares. However we have managed to freeze some prices including tickets in the Redcar, Teeside and Cleveland areas, as well as introducing some new tickets which offer great value for money. We are also taking the opportunity to increase the discount offered by our return fares. ”

Some single & return fares are increasing by between 5p & 30p whilst some will remain the same, to ensure your paying the correct fare you should state your destination to the driver who will inform you of the new fare.Return journey discounts have increased which provide better value for money.
