Newcastle New Years Eve Parades & Bus Diversions - Go North East

We are advised that a New Years Eve Parade on 31st December 2011 which will see diversions in Newcastle City Centre, the following has been announced by Go North east about diversions to their network in the centre from around 1615 which are in place all night affecting bus until end of service (which is around 1830).

Service 58 in both directions between Sandyford Road East and New Bridge Street will divert via Portland Road, Stoddart Street, Shieldfield Lane, New Bridge Street and Oxford Street and will not be able to observe normal bus stops on Sandyford Road West or John Dobson Street.

Services 307, 309 & 310 in both directions between Sandyford Road East and Haymarket will divert via Portland Terrace, Central Motorway, Great North Road, Claremont Road, Queen Victoria Road, St Thomas Street and Percy Street and will not be able to serve normal bus stops on Sandyford Road West or St Mary's Place.

Service Q2 from Grey Street will divert via Market Street West, Grainger Street, Newgate Street and Percy Street to reach Haymarket and will not serve normal bus stops on Market Street East, John Dobson Street of St Mary's Place. Normal route from Haymarket back to Grey Street.

Bus routes not listed above should be able to operate via their normal routes. Passengers should use next available bus stop as no temporary stops will be in place.
