Council Step In To Save Durham Bus Routes
A council has stepped in to try save a bus service that is possible axed next year.
Arriva routes 95 & 96 which run between Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle are planned to get the axe next year and Durham County Council have set aside £75,000 to save the routes.
The council has already invited operators to operate the service on their behalf.
Arriva blame increasing fuel prices and low passenger numbers as reasons behind the possible axing of these routes.
