Major Disruption To Yorkshire Coastliner 7th To 10th October
***NEWS ARTICLE DIRECT FROM YORKSHIRE COASTLINER***
Customers are advised that major disruption to Coastliner services will occur on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th October.
From 7pm on Friday 7th October through to 7am on Monday 10th October the A64, the trunk road between Malton and the east coast, will be closed between East Heslerton and Staxton whilst the Highways Agency undertake major repairs at a number of sites along the road.
Friday 7th October
All services will run as normal, but with journeys on route 843 diverted after 7pm.
Buses from Scarborough towards Malton, York, Tadcaster & Leeds on route 843 at 1908, 2023, 2058, 2158 will run via an alternative route between Seamer roundabout and Malton. Buses from Malton to Scarborough on route 843 at 1930, 2000, 2045 will run via an alternative route between Malton and Seamer roundabout.
Saturday 8th October & Sunday 9th October
For westbound journeys the timetable will be split, with buses from the coast finishing at Malton and connecting with buses towards York, Tadcaster & Leeds which will start from Malton. It will not be possible to guarantee connections, due to the nature of the diversion & likely delays, so a change of bus will probably be needed. Eastbound journeys will run as shown in the timetable, so there should be no need to change buses in Malton unless the timetable shows this.
840/X40 Malton – Pickering – Thornton-le-Dale – Whitby
Buses will not be diverted, but additional traffic on the A169, through Pickering, and on the A170 is expected to cause some delays to buses.
843 Malton – Seamer – Scarborough
Buses will run via an alternative route between Malton and Seamer roundabout.
Buses towards Leeds will terminate at Malton Bus Station, with connections available to York, Tadcaster & Leeds.
845/X45 Malton – Filey – Bridlington
Buses will run via an alternative route between Malton and Staxton roundabout.
Buses towards Leeds will terminate at Malton Bus Station, with connections available to York, Tadcaster & Leeds.
Monday 10th October
Buses from Malton to Scarborough on route 843, leaving Malton at 0605 & 0635 will run via an alternative route between Malton and Seamer roundabout.
From 7am the A64 should re-open to traffic and all other journeys are expected to run via the normal route.
Please bear with us...
We're sorry for the inconvenience these road works and the associated diversions & delays will cause our customers.
Our drivers and managers will be doing all they can to run our buses to time. Our satellite tracking system, fitted to all buses, will be of great benefit, allowing us to see how buses are running and enabling us to deploy extra resources as and when required.
We expect our buses to encounter some delays, which may mean buses are NOT able to connect at Malton, so please allow extra time for your journey, as you may need to travel on a later bus from Malton to your final destination.
