Changes To Go North East X9/X10 Routes
***UPDATED 15TH OCTOBER 2011***

Go North East are changing routes X9/X10 between Newcastle and Middlesbrough from Sunday 30th October 2011.

From this date evening & Sunday buses on the X9 will be withdrawn and replaced by a modified X10 service which will run between Middlesbrough & Newcastle via Stockton, Norton, Billingham & Peterlee.

X9 will still continue to operate between Middlesbrough & Newcastle via Billingham & Peterlee and X10 via Stockton & Norton on Monday to Saturday daytimes.

New Stops
Passengers have asked Go North East to introduce more stops within Newcastle City Centre to improve access to the South side of the centre & better connections onto other services. So from this date, Northbound buses (to Newcastle) will stop on Pilgrim Street between the junctions of Blackett Street and Market Street. Southbound buses (to Middlesbrough) will stop on Castle Garth outside St Nicholas’ Cathedral. All buses will continue to start and end at Eldon Square as now.

Please note to help reduce congestion at Gateshead Interchange buses will now leave from Stand H instead of Stand K.

Newcastle United Fans
Go North East have also teamed up with NUFC and Newcastle City Council to make journeys home from NUFC matches easier by running a special X10 service after all first team evening home matches at St James' Park. Anyone can use the service, not just fans of NUFC who have enjoyed (or not enjoyed) the match, however it only operates when NUFC have home matches so check this before travelling if you plan to use this service and not for the football. Normal fares apply including Buzzfare, Get Around fares & OAP/Concessionary travel passes.

The bus will leave Newcastle Eldon Square Bus Station at 2200 and run via Gateshead Interchange (2210), Heworth Metro (2218), Testos Roundabout (2223), Peterlee Bus Station (2247), Peterlee Moorcock (2250), Billingham town centre (2306), Billingham Stores (2311), Norton Red Lion (2314), Stockton High Street (2320), Teesdale University (2325) and Middlesbrough Bus Station (2333).

In the event of extra time, buses will leave 30 minutes AFTER the final whistle has been blown.
