Newcastle Flight Diverts To Gatwick After Passenger Turbulance

A passenger has been arrested at Gatwick airport after trying to open the door on a flight to Newcastle.

The 22 year old man was arrested facing charges of 'endangering the safety of an aircraft' during his flight from Majorca to Newcastle when he attempted to open the door whilst the aircraft was at 36,000ft whilst shouting 'It's okay, we are just on a simulator'.

The crew diverted the aircraft to London Gatwick airport where the passenger was arrested before the plane continued to Newcastle arriving around 3 hours late.
